There is a whole team behind every HFLA loan.

One loan is the work of a large community, between community partners, HFLA staff members, guarantors and co-signers, and the borrowers themselves that make these loans possible. But none of this work could be done with the support of our donors.

Consider supporting HFLA for years to come

Hear from all aspects of our lending community!

Ms. Rainey

Due to health issues, one of our borrowers, Ms. Rainey, has her life shaken up. She was lucky enough to receive support from non-profit organizations aligned with her diagnosis, but found that her lifestyle changes had left her slightly behind on her finances. With an HFLA standard loan, she was able to get herself back on track and prioritize staying healthy and being a positive member of her community. She spoke highly of her experience with HFLA staff members, saying, “how professional they were[,] how they made [me] feel at ease[,] and they are a true blessing.”

One of our borrowers found herself in a predicament earlier this year. Damage had been found in her home’s foundation, which quickly caused cracks in her walls. Wanting to stay and fix the home she had lived in for over 20 years, she reached out to contractors for repair quotes. With HFLA’s help, she was able to get the necessary repairs to help return her house to its former glory. HFLA staff wanted to make this process as seamless as possible to help with the stress that already comes with her home being jeopardized. After receiving her home repair loan, she said, “I appreciate not just the financial help, but the trust and encouragement that came with it.” We’re always happy to help someone reestablish stability in their lives.

Bridges@Work has the privilege to partner with The Hebrew Free Loan Association to help individuals in need when they experience a financial emergency.

Every person I encounter there is passionate about helping those in need and do so with genuine kindness, respect, and empathy. They have created an easy, flexible, and efficient process to provide their knowledge, guidance, and support along with the needed funds to resolve the financial issue.

Together, we are providing people with, not only that help, but also a sense of peace and hope so they can get back to being the best versions of themselves!

I appreciate this partnership beyond words and I know that each of the lives they touch through the Bridges@Work program is personally appreciated by every one of them!

Thank you Carrie, Tee, Kyra, Maggie and the entire HFLA team for helping Bridges@Work make a positive difference in peoples lives and creating a more stable workforce for participating employers!

We have been lucky enough to see our community blossom and grow.

One of our own former standard loan borrowers, Pastor Leslie Elston, finished off paying off his loan. But his journey with HFLA did not end there.

He decided to join HFLA’s monthly donation group, the Sprouts Club. Sprouts Club members give a reoccurring monthly gift to help support HFLA’s loan cycle and ensure programming gets the assistance needed to keep our revolving loan fund going.

Hear from Pastor Elston himself on why he has decide to continue supporting HFLA:

“I give to HFLA because of their generosity towards my crisis several years ago.  I received a $15,000.00 loan to consolidate all of my bills.  Once this was paid off, it was my honor to contribute monthly so I could provide a way for someone else.  We reap what we sow.  As HFLA sowed in my life, I want to sow into someone else’s.  It is an honor to see this Jewish foundation applying Torah principles of lending without interest!!!  Thank you again HFLA.  Baruch Hashem.”
