Loan Description: COVID-19 Emergency Loan

The COVID-19 Emergency Loan for Individuals is designed to help Northeast Ohioans who have had their income impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. This loan can be used for any necessary expenses at the discretion of the loan recipient. A guarantor is not required, but may be requested at the discretion of HFLA and the board.

In order to qualify:

  • Applicant must live in the 8 county service area (Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage and Summit).
  • Applicant must be able to prove financial hardship is due to COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Applicant must be able to prove that they are able to repay the loan under normal financial circumstances. 

These expedited loans can fund up to $1,500 to cover lost wages (including people who are self-employed), child care costs, or additional medical expenses.
